DIY 2-Ingredient After-Shower Spray

This post will round out my series of bathroom cleaners. If you missed a post, I'll link to them at the end of this post. All that water and soap residue isn't the greatest to just leave sitting in your shower when you're done. To help combat fungus and residue build-up, you may already use one of the cleaners shown below, as reviewed by the EWG.

First is the method Daily Shower Spray in Ylang Ylang scent. Unfortunately, this product doesn't disclose all of its ingredients on the label and EWG hasn't been able to figure out all of them yet. However, as you can see below, it does rank in all of areas of concern. It's listed at $3.19 online.

Second, is the Arm & Hammer Clean Shower Daily Shower Cleaner. While this one doesn't rank in all the areas of concern, it's much higher in the respiratory and skin allergies/irritation section. It's price is around $4 online.

A Natural, Less-Expensive Option

Third, is a DIY After-Shower Spray made of half distilled white vinegar and half filtered water, just fill a spray bottle with half of each and shake it up a little. We've been using this for several months now and it definitely helps! At first we tried it with tea tree essential oil in it, but that left more residue on the shower walls. If you haven't used an after-shower spray before, I recommend leaving the spray bottle in the shower and just lightly spray the walls, bottom corners, and drain cover when you finish showering. This spray will cost you around 50 cents!!! Do yourself a favor and save $2.50-$3!! Saving these pennies and dollars will add up over time if you're committed. You don't have to commit all at once, just one room at a time, but my family and I have felt it to be very beneficial in multiple ways.

Later this week I'll have another money-saving tip for you, and next week I'll go over my kitchen cleaners. Is there anything else you'd like to see here? What are natural living ideas interest you?
