Resources

Some of these resources have some form of "mom" in the name, but these resources are not just kid-related! They are simply written by moms who strive to live naturally, one way or another.

Environmental Working Group: "The Environmental Working Group is the nation’s most effective environmental health research and advocacy organization.  Our mission is to conduct original, game-changing research that inspires people, businesses and governments to take action to protect human health and the environment" (EWG About Us page). This has been an invaluable resource to me because you can look up the personal care and cleaning products you're currently using to learn about exactly what's in them, or you can just assume you're not using good stuff and find replacements through this site. The site also offers a number of ways to help you make informed decisions about everything you buy from fresh produce to toothpaste.

Growing Up Herbal: The author, Megan, is a certified nurse, mom of 4, herbalist, and avid essential oil user. She has wonderful ideas on how to use fresh herbs and essential oils for everyone in your family, newborn to adult. She also sells a tincture in her Etsy shop that can basically replace the flu shot! She also wrote an e-book about how to cure fevers naturally.

Learning About EOs: The writer of this blog is a certified aromatherapist. Her information is thorough and carefully researched. She holds to a conservative way of using EOs. She's a go-to resource for EOs.

Mama Natural: Genevieve is fun, quirky, and very natural. She is willing to try just about anything related to natural living. She has been inspirational.

Mommy Greenest: Although "mommy" is part of this blog's title, it's very un-mom focused. The writer is a mom and sometimes she writes about kid stuff, but she generally just posts about anything related to natural living. She does a lot of product reviews, so if you're looking for a replacement for something, check out this site.

Mommypotamus: Heather has written several books about natural living, including DIY Non-Toxic Cleaning Recipes and DIY Organic Beauty Recipes. She regularly posts on her real food living lifestyle and is also an excellent resources for natural information.

Wellness Mama: Katie has studied nutrition and continues to do so. She carefully researches anything before publishing it on her site. She cites and hosts professionals in their field. What she says and writes just makes sense, 99% of the time. :) Although she's a mom and focuses on a mom audience, she has great information about health for everyone--mom, dad, grandpa, aunt, cousin, etc.
